Economy simulation set in the golden age of airships, the 1920s, where you are put in charge of the company building and operating them.
As usual in economy simulations, you start with a single, small airship (or colloquially a Zeppelin) and try to establish the first route. Since you start in Germany your first destination might be Vienna, Paris, perhaps with some luck London. With progress of the technology you can build bigger Zeppelins with better performance and more capacity.
While most of the time you will be dealing with the daily matters of the company, like refuelling the airships, finding cargoes and passengers, set routes, you also have to think about showing off the capabilities of your airships, f.e. by setting new records of longest flights. This will help you gain reputation in the industry, which might land a government contract in your lap to build Zeppelins.
Just like most of the German economy simulations, Zeppelin Giants of the Sky is pretty hard to master - the profit margin is pretty low, you have to act fast to bring enough business to build another airship and attract more clients. Also there are global events that could influence the economy, you can learn about them from a newspaper or take a trip to some other city and visit art auctions.
The graphic side was very interesting, the whole interface was made to look stylish and build atmosphere of the game. The gameplay on the other hand, was a bit uneven. At the beginning everything seems to be a new and exciting adventure, but pretty quickly it turns into repeating same things over and over again.
Overall Zeppelin Giants of the Sky was an interesting game, with a lot of effort put into building the atmosphere, but it can hardly be called an exciting game or title with longevity. Nevertheless it is the best ever simulator of running a Zeppelin building company.
