Soccer management game made with a little twist - all the events that take place in the game are accompanied by samples from sitcoms, movies or songs, which creates a great fun.
There were many soccer management games, some of them better, some of them worse, some of the brilliant, others simply copies of what was already overdone in previous ones. But PSV Eindhoven Manager had one gimmick that made this game stand out of the others - the audio aspect of the game. Basics are pretty much the same as in other games - you take over a soccer club, buy and sell players, take part in different competitions, you can choose from several countries and play in the top division as long as you stay in the top division.
The difference between PSV Eindhoven Manager and other games was best shown when you actually wasn’t doing so well in the game - the game begun to make fun of you using audio samples from sitcoms, movies, songs or other sources. Imagine that you play the most important game of the season, unfortunately lose 0-1 and the result is show together with the sample from Wings "oh my god, I hope they’ve been drinking" or "would you like to step out and scream?", not to mention that your position in the manager rankings and division tables are accompanied by the same lack of compassion presented by the game.
Small game made in Poland (Polish version was much funnier due to far larger library of samples) that offered a decent soccer management game with all the basic options, some quite interesting options (like swapping team during the game) and that something that made it a title to remember - funny audio background and some really wacky ideas for in-game events.
Wow, completely forgot about that game - it was awesome!
