soccer gamessport gamessoccer manager games
Simple soccer management game that simulated the top English division.
Simple soccer management game that simulated English top division, but management options were rather limited to bare necessities, like basic training setting, basic transfer options and basic squad selection, which in 1991 wasn’t that much really (only a year or two before first version of Championship Manager). There f.e. informations about ticket incomes, about travel costs, etc. but we had absolutely no options to actually do something about increasing or decreasing them - we were just informed about the results.
The match engine was slightly more impressive - a handful of animations with different endings were used to show how the goal opportunities have ended, which was in fact a nice touch, but at the same time the player skill parameters were limited to just 4 (skill in goal, defense, midfield and attack).
It was one of the early games that was published on Amiga and on Atari ST, but it was far from being perfect. But after all the Rome wasn’t built in a day and first soccer managers were rarely masterpieces.
