What could be simpler than democracy? Find out by running the local election campaign for one of parties in United Kingdom.
Election is a single player game, in which you are running a local election campaign for one of the parties in United Kingdom. It sounds simple, but instead of running it on a global scale you have to concentrate on the basics.
The area we are running the campaign consists of 24 streets, most of them filled with the suburban houses, some with low cost houses and The Pits, where the high residential buildings are located. You have 5,000 pounds to cover the costs of the campaign, which is not that much, so you have to choose wisely how to distribute them.
You can pay for the billboards, newspaper advertising, sending your activists to canvas the chosen streets or take part in the public debates. Each of that actions will cost you money or other kind of points, just like use of the polls. Of course you can’t believe the polls, but they could show the general situation in your area.
Election is rather simple political game, but gives a general idea how the local elections worked in 1980s Britain, with use of random events it was quite good project, although it wasn’t that great game.
