Polish soccer manager game that simulated Polish league only with sufficient set of options to run your team in the reality of 1990s.
In 1990s Polish computer games market was rather limited, especially on Amiga computers - very few companies were trying to publish legal copies of the games and there was still grey area full of illegal copies. In that reality of falling Amiga market Liga Polska Manager was published. When you take a hard look at it the game can hardly be called a great piece of entertainment - graphics side was hardly impressive, audio was just decent, the match engine was far from being perfect, but... in a way it was just like Polish soccer league of that era.
The game was clearly inspired by the Bundesliga Manager / The Manager games: player parameters were over-simplified, the advertisement deals were looking very similar, even the match highlights were in a way similar (although lacked the quality). We can run our team in one of the available divisions (first, two second and third) with real names of that era. Apart from transfers and stadium improvements the game do not have much more to offer, but the biggest problem was with the match engine itself. First of all we have no access to match statistics, so it is hard to spot the influence of the players on match result, but the more peculiar thing was with the goalscorers - often (even very often) the goals as scored by your defenders. Of course it is possible, but rather rare for central defender to take on the dribbling through half of the field and score spectacular goal. Also some of the animations that clearly end with goal scored are described as wasted opportunities.
Even though Liga Polska Manager lacked the quality, the depth or even a decent match engine it was a good effort that might have been far better in future if Amiga computers market would not collapse within few years.
