Italian soccer manager game inspired by Championship Manager, but lacking the style or sophistication of the original.
Euro League Manager was an Italian soccer manager game simulating three countries (Italy, England and Spain) plus a fantasy league (with clubs from those three countries mixed together into divisions). While clearly inspired by Championship Manager the game was a mixed bag - on one hand few interesting options were included (f.e. setting up the training plan for week, taking bank loan, improve elements of the stadium), but at the same time what was suppose to be a main part of the game (match engine, player management) were not that impressive to put it nicely.
Overall the game included some elements that can be seen as interesting Euro League Manager lacked the atmosphere, style and sophistication of Championship Manager. For example the data of players was quite similar, but the interface of Euro League Manager was made in a way that made it harder to make a decision while selecting the team or making a substitution during the match. The match engine was simple and did not give a lot of data to work on, there were no performance reports, no personal statistics, not even a training report that would explain if our training plan made any improvements.
Euro League Manager was interesting project, but chaotic interface and lack of atmosphere made it a very forgettable game. The access to different leagues, some of the options were strong points of the game, but when you delve into details it fell short on many levels.
