Arcade game set in a reality of World War 2 - take charge in landing on an island and overwhelming the defenders.
Beach Head is a game set on the Pacific Theatre of World War II, where you take control of fleet that is about to make a landing on an island occupied by the enemy. First of all you can choose two ways to approach the beach - frontal attack (meaning you will face the enemy warships and plans) or the sneaky way (meaning you will have to slip through a narrow straits filled with mines). No matter which way you choose, the goal is the same - each of your ships that will get to the beach, carries tanks, which will be important in next phase of the attack - assault through land fortifications. Less ships you lose approaching the beach, more tanks are available. Breaking through the defence lines will lead you to the final part of the attack - the bunker. The mountain-like bunker contains plenty of firing positions and a huge turret on top. If you shoot the fire positions quick enough you will not learn how deadly the turret is. And just like with the ships before - more tanks survive the assault, more chances you will have to deal with the bunker.
Beach Head was one of the arcade games / shooters offering a multi-phase gameplay, in which each part of the adventure was slightly different and required slightly different skills (Raid over Moscow and Beverly Hills Cop being other examples). This title was enjoyable as far as the hardware limitations made it possible - the graphic side was not great, but it was challenging enough to keep it replayable again and again.

1983
Classic arcade game with slight elements of simulation - we take control over World War I plane that flies deep behind enemy lines and attacks the land targets and strategic bridges.

1982
Platform game that had an extra topical flavour - as an adventurer you jump and run through the jungle environment and face the dangers the jungle has to offer.

1996
Duke Nukem 3D was in many ways not very good game - it lacked story as such, the enemy AI was struggling, the levels were sometimes too repetitive, but at the same time it was one of the most enjoyable FPS games ever.

1986
The 1980s was an era when ninjas took over the Western culture with the (completely false) image of wearing all-black clothing assassins.
