One of the most revolutionary early RPG games that introduced a lot of elements that today are quite obvious, but back in 1987 were the novelty that changed the genre.
Somewhere deep in the dungeons firestaff of Librasulus (the Grey Lord) is hidden, an artifact that could bring Librasulus back to physical form and this allow him to destroy Lord Chaos (whose name is a dead giveaway that he is the villain in that story). So far many champions have entered the dungeons, but none of them came back. As Theron, Grey Lord’s apprentice, we are unable to enter the dungeon ourselves, but we can resurrect some of the champions to form a party that would be able to finally find the firestaff and finally defeat the Lord Chaos.
There are many ways in which Dungeon Master have revolutionized the genre of RPG - from first-person view to real-time combat elements, from using sounds to warn about the creatures to paper doll inventory interface. Some of those elements were used before in the games, but put together in Dungeon Master made it one of the most successful RPGs of its era. During our quest we stumble upon dangers, like the creatures or traps, we have to find the keys or a way to open the doors or remove barriers, find the weapons and armour that will be useful in fight, food and water to feed the party members, also we could use the magic spells (if we knew the right combination of magic signs).
